Sara loves how every day of work at WKYC is different, getting to meet people and experience new places. At home, she looks for new restaurants, recipes, movies and yoga classes to fill her calendar.

You find Sara on WKYC-TV weeknights at 11 p.m., on twitter @SaraShookman and always at here at
Sara joined the Channel 3 News team in Cleveland in June 2012. You’ll see her reporting on stories all around Northeast Ohio, including her hometown of Akron.

She is a proud graduate of Manchester High School and lover of the Portage Lakes where she’s spent most of her life. She’s glad to be back at WKYC, where she first worked as an intern during her college years at Ohio University. She graduated summa cum laude from the E. W. Scripps School of Journalism. She also studied in international business in Turin, Italy.

She's quickly become one of Channel 3's go-to reporters, covering local, national and now international news. She'll be representing WKYC at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. In January 2014, Cleveland Magazine named Sara one of the city's most interesting people.

Prior to her return to Northeast Ohio, Sara spent three years reporting and filling in at the anchor desk at WVLT in Knoxville, Tennessee. The Tennessee Associated Press named Sara one of the state's best TV reporters and honored her feature reporting as well. Sara got her start in television at WOUB in Athens, Ohio.
